Cork Racing

The southernmost county of Ireland, Co. Cork is renowned for its contributions to Irish history and wonderful natural coastal landscapes. Situated within the Blackwater Valley, Mallow is the crossroads of Munster and from humble agricultural roots has grown to become a major town and administrative centre of northern Co. Cork. Road and rail networks connect the town with Cork, Limerick, Tralee, Dublin, and Killarney and a free bus shuttle service ferries passengers from the town to the racecourse which is situated on the Killarney road. There are ample Mallow accommodation options for those with some time to spend in the town and plenty of visitor attractions, pubs and restaurants.

National hunt fixtures form the main Cork racing attractions interspersed with some flat racing too. With some 20 meetings to attend and all year round racing there are many opportunities for racegoers to enjoy a great day out and all the thrill and fun of the races. The three day Easter festival is the highlight of the racing calendar and also contains the main social event which is Ladies Day, traditionally held on Easter Sunday. There are also many evening fixtures which take on a whole new social aspect, and themed events such as BBQ nights.
